MAY

5th -    Duck Race. Gadsden's Boys & Girls Club sponsors this event that begins at 12:00 noon on the Riverside of Moragne Park and the "Dumping of Ducks" is done at 3:05 p.m. from the Broad Street Bridge. This is an annual fund raiser for the Boys & Girls Club. For more information contact Pam @ Boys & Girls Club Office 256-546-5437.

12th -  Crappie Masters Fishing Tournament. This is another crappie tournament that the City co-sponsors for the crappie enthusiasts. For more information contact Paul Alpers @ 573-280-8020.

12th -   Kids Fishing Rodeo. At Moragne Park on Albert Rains Boulevard. For more information call 256-549-4643.

17-20th U. S. 11 Antique Alley Yard Sale. This yard sale begins in Meridian, MS and continues on U. S. 11 Highway to Bristol, VA. For more information contact Lisa Turner, City of Attalla 256-538-3712.

25-27th 2007 Pig Roast. This is an annual charity event that includes a lot of good barbecue, music, children's entertainment, motorcycle ride and down home Southern hospitality. All proceeds to local charities and/or helping with the children's Christmas drive. For more info contact Gail Hill @ 256-413-3684.

26th -  Catch a Dream Fishing Tournament. This fishing tournament is part of the Coosa River Team Trail but one-time fishermen can fish it also. All the proceeds go to the Catch a Dream Foundation which is a tax exempt charity that provides a dream trip for a chronically or terminally ill child under the age of 18 years and a resident of Etowah County. JUNE

1-2nd - Foggy Hollow Bluegrass Gatherin'. 15 Years of 30 shows, celebrate with IIIrd Tyme Out; Gary Waldrep; Tim Graves & Cherokee; Jake Landers Band; Kudzu String Band; Bent Creek; Distant Cousins; The Baileys. This event will be at Foggy Hollow Farm, 439 Ross Lake Road, Wellington, AL 36279 (Between Gadsden & Anniston off U. S. 431) call 256-492-3700 for info.

6th -      "Big Men" Annual Blues Concert. Gadsden Convention Hall. 256-549-4669.

15 – 17th - Street Rod Show. Event at Noccalula Falls Park. Contact Steve Fleming 256-492-2950.

16th -   BFL Choo Choo Division. This is a true sportsman's fishing trail that always has a turnout of 100+ boats. The City co-sponsors this tournament. For more information contact Rob Vanderson @ 270-252-1562.

30th -    BFL Barna Division. This sportsman's fishing trail has a turnout of 100+ boats. The City co-sponsors this tournament. For more information contact Randy Sullivan @ 270-252-1581.

 

JULY

20-22nd - Antique Auto Show - Noccalula Falls Park Contact Marzette Jones @ 256–393-7968

26-29th -  Southern Thunder Nationals Drag Boat Races. Gadsden Boardwalk and the Coosa River. Contact Parks and Recreation Office at 256-549-4680.

 

AUGUST

2-5th - World's Longest Yard Sale. The southern point of beginning is at Noccalula Falls Park, Gadsden, Alabama. The first one hundred miles is on the Lookout Mountain Parkway to Chattanooga, TN. In Chattanooga the sale continues on U. S. 127 on to Fayette, Ohio which is on the state line of Ohio/Michigan. More than 600 miles!!! Call 256-549-0351 for more info.


 

SEPTEMBER

26–29th Alabama Bass Federation State Championship. This championship tournament will end the season with an exciting finish. The competition will be strong. The City is co-sponsoring. For more info contact Earl Andrews 256-820-1944 or cell # 256-283-1059.
